Summary

With a fascinating culture, beautiful natural landscapes, and some of the tastiest street food on the globe, Thailand is an adventurer's heaven. Embark on this 14-day tour along the country's east coast to get a unique glimpse into this Southeast Asian country with some additional northern Thailand highlights too. Explore the smaller "klong" canals of the Chao Phraya river, stay overnight in a traditional floating raft house in Kanchanaburi, and tour the historic Bridge on the River Kwai. Don't worry, you'll have plenty of time to relax on Thailand's tropical sands, snorkel through unbelievably warm water, and bond with your travel mates at beach bars in between.

    Bangkok

    Arrive at any time.

  • Day 2

    Bangkok/Kanchanaburi

    Enjoy a klong boat tour of Bangkok including a visit to Wat Pho. Travel to Kanchanaburi and head to your floating rafthouse accommodation.

  • Day 3

    Kanchanaburi

    Enjoy a day of sightseeing at Erawan Falls and the Bridge on the River Kwai.

  • Day 4

    Kanchanaburi to Ayutthaya to Chiang Mai

    Explore the Allied War Cemetery and the Thai-Burmese Railway Centre to learn more about the area's history. Travel to Ayutthaya and visit the historical sites of the old capital city. In the evening board an overnight train to Chiang Mai.

  • Day 5

    Chiang Mai

    Arrive in Chiang Mai and explore the city. Visit Doi Suthep in the afternoon. Chiang Mai is a vibrant city with heaps to see and do. Famous for its night market and cooking classes, it's a feat to fit it all in. Experience the flavours and scents of traditional northern Thai cuisine by pre-booking the Northern Thai Cooking Class.

    Chiang Mai

    Take a full free day to relax or explore the countryside of northern Thailand. Chiang Mai is a vibrant city with heaps to see and do. Famous for its night market, it's a feat to fit it all in. Experience the flavours and scents of traditional northern Thai cuisine by pre-booking the Northern Thai Cooking Class.

  • Day 7

    Chiang Mai/Bangkok

    Enjoy a free morning in Chiang Mai, then fly to Bangkok to enjoy a night out in the city.

  • Day 8

    Bangkok/Koh Tao

    Catch a morning flight to Chumphon, then transfer by minivan to Chumphon Pier. Spend leisure time at the beach there and opt to have lunch on your own at a restaurant near the port. Then, board a ferry to the tropical island of Koh Tao. Upon arrival enjoy free time to relax on the beach or become acquainted with the bustling little town.

  • Day 9

    Koh Tao

    Enjoy a full-day snorkelling excursion from Koh Tao with stops at Koh Nang Yuan, Mango Bay, Hin Wong Bay, Ao Leuk, and Shark Bay. Have an included lunch on board and use free time to explore the island beaches. Return to the hotel in the evening to spend a free night in Koh Tao. Known as ‘turtle island’ in English, Koh Tao's beach bars and hotels come alive at night with many chances awaiting for you to share your tales of the days activities over a cold beer or two. A mask, snorkel and life jacket are included during the snorkel trip. If you wish to use fins, they are available to rent on the boat.

  • Day 10

    Koh Tao/Koh Pha Ngan

    After breakfast take a ferry to nearby Koh PhaNgan and spend a free afternoon on the island. Opt to explore the nearby waterfalls, swim in lagoons, take a short hike, or relax by the water. Dinner this evening is included at a local restaurant.

  • Day 11

    Koh Pha Ngan

    Enjoy a full free day to make the most of your remaining time on Ko Pha-Ngan.

  • Day 12

    Koh Pha Ngan/Koh Samui

    Enjoy breakfast before departing Koh Pha Ngan. Board a ferry and transfer to Koh Samui and spend the remainder of the day on your own exploring this tropical paradise.

  • Day 13

    Koh Samui

    Today you will be exploring Ang Thong National Park on a full-day boating excursion with lunch and snorkelling by the beach included. Swim in the park's clear waters, photograph the lush island's rising out of the sea, and learn about the area's biodiversity. Afterwards, transfer back to the hotel and spend an evening at leisure.

  • Day 14

    Koh Samui/Bangkok

    After breakfast at the hotel the group will transfer to the Koh Samui Airport and board a flight to Bangkok. The tour ends upon arrival to the Suvarnabhumi Airport.

    The minimum age to travel unaccompanied is 18. For minors traveling with a guardian over 21 years old, the minimum age is 12.
  • Is there an extra cost for solo travelers?

    Solo travelers are paired in twin or multi-share accommodation with someone of the same sex, so there is no single supplement on group trips. However, exceptions apply for the rafthouse (Night 2) and the overnight train (Night 4).

  • What health considerations should I be aware of before traveling?

    Inoculations may be required, so consult your travel doctor. It is recommended to carry a First Aid kit, hand sanitizers, and personal medical requirements, as medical facilities may be remote. Our CEOs are prohibited from administering any type of drug.
  • What are the visa and entry requirements for Thailand?

    All countries require a valid passport (minimum 6 months validity). Most nationalities do not need a visa for Thailand for stays of 30 days or less. As of May 1st, 2025, all non-Thai nationals must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online at least 3 days before arrival.
  • How should I dress to respect local customs in Thailand?

    Dress standards in Asia are more conservative. Pack loose, lightweight, long clothing. When visiting villages, temples, mosques, or other holy sites, please dress respectfully and avoid very short shorts/skirts and singlets/tank-tops.
  • What optional activities are available during the trip?

    Optional activities include a Half-Day Chiang Mai Cycling Tour, Street Food Walk at Chiang Mai Night Market, Northern Thai Cooking Class, Koh Pha-Ngan Waterfalls Exploration, Swimming, Yoga and Meditation Courses, Hiking on Koh Pha-Ngan, and Stand Up Paddleboarding at Koh Samui.
  • Is travel insurance compulsory for this trip?

    Yes, travel insurance is compulsory. You will need a minimum of USD 200,000 coverage for medical expenses, including emergency evacuation and repatriation. It is strongly recommended to also cover personal liability, cancellation, curtailment, and loss of luggage.
  • What should I know about currency and money exchange in Thailand?

    The local currency is Thai Baht. The best way to carry money is with debit cards for ATM withdrawals (Visa and Mastercard are generally accepted). USD cash is recommended for emergencies when ATMs are not accessible. Credit cards can be used at some upmarket restaurants and larger stores.
  • How much emergency money should I bring?

    You should have access to at least an additional USD $200 (or equivalent) as an emergency fund, to be used for circumstances outside our control.
  • What happens if Ang Thong National Park is closed?

    Ang Thong National Park is closed annually during monsoon season (typically mid-October to mid-December) and occasionally during extreme weather. Should this occur, an alternative activity, such as a Lake Cheow Lan excursion, will be provided.
  • What is the company's policy on drugs and the sex trade?

    Illegal drugs are not tolerated and possessing or using them contravenes local laws and puts the group at risk. The exploitation of people in the sex trade is completely contrary to our philosophy. Our CEOs have the right to expel any group member found violating these rules.
  • Are there laundry facilities available during the trip?

    Laundry facilities are offered by some of our hotels for a charge. We suggest you bring non-polluting/biodegradable soap for times when you may need to do your own laundry.
